What the hell is spam anyway and why does everyone care so much?

All I hear at sites is "No Spam, No Spam!" I even had all my posts deleted once at a site cause they said it was "spam" I was just trying to tell some one how to learn Elvish!!

So can anyone fill me in on what exactly spam is, and why everyone cares so much?!! It is beyond me at the moment!

Well NM, technically spam is useless or trivial posts. Typically they (people that complain about spam) are referring to peopel who post a response to everything that anyone posts. Comments like "me too!!" or "whatever". Also posts that are completely off subject can be considered spam. The problem with spam is that it can (if left unchecked) quickly fill up a board and greatly increase it's load time, a bad thing. Hope that helps.

I find that if you have a baord where every one can let out they're spam, you have less on others. That's what happened on a site I was on.

But its your chooce really.
