Aiya all!! So about me, well I live in British Columbia Canada, in a small town of about 6000 people. It is a beautiful little town. Two rivers flow on either side and join up at the end of town, they are clear and beautiful and very refreshing in this hot summer heat!! Tall gorgeous trees boarder the roads all through town and of course are everywhere else as well. There are large green Mountains surrounding our valley (which is called "Sunshine Valley") And almost every night there is a clear sparkling view of the Stars shining bright in all directions. It is really a wonderful place to live!!
I work at a video store and it is the greatest job in the world. I only have 5 other employees to work with including the Manager and Ass. Manager, they are all great friends of mine (but none as obsessed with LotR as me!!Unfortunately!)
I live, sleep, eat, and dream Lord of the Rings. Amazingly and this is no lie, I never even heard of The Lord of the Rings until the movies came out!! Unbelievable I know how deprived I was!! They didn't even make us read it in school!! What a rip!! So after I saw the Fellowship, I read the book, but waited till the Two Towers was released before reading that one. I guess I just didn't want to be disappointed in any way like I heard some people who had read the books were. And boy! When Gandalf returned....that was the greatest moment ever!!! Then after that I could not wait any longer and knew that there was no way I could be disappointed in the Return of the King, cause I loved the first two so much, and so read that book and anything else Tolkien I could get my hands on. I guess I was just deprived so long, now I am packing it all in!!!
I taught myself how to write in Tengwar from the appendix, this was before I had a computer, which is good, cause I probably would not have taken the time to learn otherwise. It is the most beautiful script imaginable, especially when I write it with my favorite ink pen!!!!
I am a total Elf wanna be. I wear my hair like them, I dress like them (not quite as fancy but I try!) I even had a Galadriel dress made for the Premiere of the Movie, and yes, I dressed up to go see the movie (I even have Elf ears!!) I know I am a total psycho but I guess there could be worse things to be addicted to!!! Here are a couple of pictures of me to prove my point of "psycho" ******************************* home.fuse.net/ari/ari//Sairalindenamarie.jpg[/img] *************************************** home.fuse.net/ari/ari/Sairalindeskyward.jpg[/img]

I'm an Elf wanna be too lol! I live in Ontario, Canada. Nothing special here in my neighbourhood................. I heard of the book Lord of the Rings before because my dad gave it to me about a year before the movie came out. I started reading it and was getting confused and all that. I saw all 3 movies and then decided to read the book again from the beginning. (Before I left off at the Prancing Pony). My dad said he got the first paperback copy that came out. Cool huh? ;D. Right now I'm reading when Frodo and Sam met with Faramir and Gollum is still missing....... I would love to dress up as an elf! Looks like I got my Halloween costume lol! Where do you get the ears?? Are they reuseable?
Anyways about me. Most people think I'm odd, because of the music I like (I like Beatles and Disney) and because I don't know everything they know, like they know so much about these guys and I don't. They know and talk about clothing and I don't. I'm not necessarily up to fashion. Just a plain T-shirt and pants is ok with me. Unlike all the other girls they have all these fancy bobbles and strings with beads, with weird stuff all over it........ I'm considered the smartest in my class, well one of the smartest, there is this guy too and we are sort of competeing. We both get equal marks, it's hard to be better than each other. I have one brother, and about to have another one. I'm oldest of all my cousins. Out of all my cousins (9, including me and my brother) 2 are girls (including me) and the rest are guys. Bit biased from my point of view........ I'm one of those Legolas lover people. I don't like "Orli" people. I like Legolas as the character. Most people think that whoever likes Legolas likes Orlando too.....I personally think Orlando is a but ugly......no offence you all you Orli lovers. I'm a person who speaks their mind (well sometimes...). I'm shy. I don't have many friends. People say I don't have a "social" life. I'm the quiet type. I'm mysterious to all who know me. And if you would like to know more about me you will have to ask because I don't really know what to say about myself.
My dream is to become an Elf. Although I know it is impossible to accomplish no matter how much I want to be and Elf. *sighs* Well other than being an Elf I would like to be a writer, just that I need to fix up my grammar, and make sure that my sentences make sense.............man, do I feel I'm destroying my dreams...

That is cool that you are also from Canada! It is good to have a dreams, Even if they involve the impossible, I also dream of being an Elf!! I am however an Aragorn girl!! I would be like Arwen, the Elf Maiden who swears her undying love to a rugged, handsome mortal man!! Mmmmmmm I really love the character Aragorn, but there is something about that Viggo, that is so like Aragorn, I can't help but love him too!! I got the ears at a local pharmacy, around Halloween last year "fantasy ears" they are called and yes they are reuseable!! They come with facial adhesive, which you DO NOT want to get in your hair!! OUCH!! NG

My favourite character (as you might already know) is Legolas. My favourite "girl" or "maiden" is Arwen......and I always end up going for the Elves..................

Well isn't that funny, my story sounds somewhat similar to yours, NG! I had never read LOTR, and when my dad wanted to rent FOTR I was the one saying nay(I cannot believe myself, bad! bad! *slaps*). We rented it and I fell in love with every single detail about, hmm, five minutes into it. After that, not wanting to read the books first(didn't wanna know what would happen), I got The Silmarillion and began on an OMG-Tolkien's-Amazing-Phaze! I've finished all the movies now, and I'm in the last half of the third book, give me a couple days, and I'm a fanatic! I like Legolas as much as the next girl, but my favorites are Frodo(DUH, who couldn't love him) and Haldir. For maidens, all my friends disagree with me on this, Galadriel is the absolute best. I like Lorien, I'm fascinated with it and its elves, and Rohan since I myself own horses and revolve around them! In rl I live in Idaho, smack-dab in the middle of three big cattle ranches. Right across the street I met a gal starting out her horse-training career, and working for her I've gotten free lessons. Though my family can't afford it in the least I have a paint gelding and a yearling pony colt, and along with God and LOTR they're my life! I'm the odd-ball of my grade, I scare even my friends. I don't care much for clothes unless they look elven or are western, and therefore I have fun putting together all kinds of outfits aimed to shock all the wannabe-barbies of the school. Besides that I'm above average pretty much everywhere, a GT("Gifted and Talented" - special class) student, and have all A's and am always, adding to my "strangeness level". I'm a Christian and will openly talk about my faith, and I'm alergic to wheat, have asthma(my alergist said I'm the most alergic kid he'd seen!), and am lactose intolerant, as you can imagine I'm home sick a lot, lol. I have a few friends, but none I'll ever count very high. I left my best friends in a move a year ago, so therefore I'm pretty much set on that no one can ever replace them. My friends now are good, we've started writing stories back and forth, like RPGing basically, and that's been really enjoyable, none will ever truly understand my obsession with LOTR though, lol. Haha, on the subject of ears.. This Halloween I went as Legolas, with brown hair, lol, but eeeeek the ears. I bought this wax-stuff, but wasn't told you also had to apply this extra spray to harden them. So on went the ears, and I waited and waited for them to harden, took off, went to a party, went to friend's house. Ears never dried, were almost impossible to take off, and I had to cut some hair because of the junk. Lesson-learned, ick! *shudders* Anyway, hopefully I can get to know everyone and have some fun with ya! ;D - Ringil

Wow! All Elf lovers. I couldn't find the ears for my costume and nobody knew who I was. I was Arwen when she first appeared to Frodo "Angel" because the store didn't sell any other ones. One bad thing is that I wear glasses so I completely messed up...my costume was a mess.......
And Suilad to all you new people!!!

~Aiya~ Well hello first and foremost. I am a happy pisces who loves above all elves, and the not talked about enough maiar, especially uinen. i'd like to say i am about 4500 years old, so that i might have wandered all the ages of middle earth making the teleri more known and more at war with morgoth melkor. but in the sad truth, i am 19 who breathes the worlds of all elves, maiar, valar, and the faeries on different planes of existince on every fantasy world i can get my hands on. i first read, "the hobbit" when i was seven. i found it on one of my teachers desk and decided reading was much more fun than was hanging around the other kids. i than went about my house singing about breaking bilbos dishes. i soon followed (after sharpening my pronunciation skills) with the lord of the rings, as well as other fantasy novels including mermaids, undines, selkies, and kelpies. i absolutely love the movies as well. but being a tolkienite for as long as i could remember.... i found cate blanchett perfectly cast in all of galadriel's glory. but, and please don't hate me on this, i love arwen! but in all of the years reading her description, mannerisms, and of luthien, and of aragorns love for her, i am sorry to say, liv tyler did a bad job. i mean she didn't have the black hair, or grey eyes and she stole glorfindels horse. i fully agree with making her more of a part in the movie, cause in various aspects of the book, frodo looks to aragorn and see's him dreaming whenever he see's a flower and especially in lothlorien and rivendell...so she is a key character... but the screenplay made for the movie about her was all wrong. i'm sorry, i just had to get that out of my system, it's not meant to be bashing, it's just as a lover of arwen and the few strong elf women left in middle earth, she was made all wrong in the movie. respond in every which way, i would be happy to give page numbers, and the whole story written of aragorn and arwen by tolkien to anyone, since i have every story, side story, notes, and letters i could get my elf obbsessed hands on. this being my first fanlisting i have joined, and the lack of tolkien fans in my home area to talk with. i also have a tendency to write on and on, aspiring author and artist of various sorts. also just tolkien obsessed, and know nearly all characters, places, happenings, destinies, and songs of middle earth. which is how i ended up here. just not to fluent on my elvish, of all the things to miss out on..sigh.. i really need a tolkienite around here. ~namarie

Aiya~ i ramble sometimes. as for my lack of good elvish speaking skills, i went to your link of the quenya dictionary and lessons, and happily downloaded it. as for my lack of good introductory skills, i live with my mother and am my 8 year old sisters nanny people older than that are new to me, and as soon as she is good with a computer she would be happy to tell of her love for frodo and of Varda, i have pased my obsession down the line.

Mae govannen!
I fear I do not have much to say about myself. I live in Illinois,USA,in a small, rural town some 60 miles south of Chicago and shall turn 18 this August. I am generally a very quite, shy girl..either daydreaming, reading,or writing. I do not really talk much...I generally keep to myself... I do well enough in school....but I'd rather be writing poems or stories. I love "The Lord of the Rings" with a passion and know the books and movies by heart. I know some Elven(both Quenya and Sindarin),though I've not yet managed to teach myself how to write Tengwar. I would gladly dress up like the Elves and wear my hair like thiers..but I must suffice with placing myself in the world of Middle-earth as often as I can.
I fight as a Elven maiden named Elestirne Starbrowed in the Belegarth chapter Loderia(similar to Oron's Dagohir). I rarely think of anything excerpting Loderia,Elves, LOTR and horses-save for my boyfriend whom is the love of my life and fights with a Dagohirian chapter in Michigan. Well..that is all that I can think of to say about myself. I hope to post some more on this forum at a later date. But namarie for now.

Hello Coby. Mae govannen("well met")and welcome to Tindome. I like Lord of the Rings myself(am very passionate about it in fact)and I love elves and all things Tolkien and fantasy. It is okay to be shy-I actually am very shy and not very good around people(especially not large crowds of them) I shall be a senior in high school this fall. Congratulations on your job interview-I am trying to get a job myself and I am almost 18. I think a library would be one of the colest places possible to work in...especially as I love to read(especially fantasy) I wish you luck on getting your job and look forward to seeing you on Tindome again. Perhaps you will become a member. Well..it's late at night for me in Illinois, and I've my medieval/fantasy realm practice tomorrow,so I must be going. My character cannot be expected to fight well if her creator is exhausted from staying up late the night before. Namarie(farewell) Coby.
